forbidden planet poster

just finished up my contribution to the silver screen society for the movie of the month, forbidden planet. trevor basset and brandon schaefer are graphic designers who founded the project in which they select a different group of illustrators and designers every month who want to participate and interpret the movie with original poster art. here is mine. by the way, this movie is amazing just like it says on the dvd cover, i should have added that to mine. i would recommend checking it on out though; it's a sci-fi movie from 1957 featuring the stellar leslie nelson.
here's how it started to progress

and then, bam!

here we go magic...

here's a poster i printed right before last night's show, which was quite enjoyable; especially due to the sleep deprivation and sense of delirium that i felt. here are a few images of the experience. not my harley or my press.

velociprint poster show -tucson arizona 11/12 & 11/14

this here is a print i did for a bike/art/poster exhibition out in tucson, arizona. found this show after my bad luck attempt at getting into the artcrank las vegas show. this literally came down to the last minute, but i think i'm rather happy with it, especially considering that. limited run of 30 and 9 AP's on 9.5" x 12.5" speckle toned stock (french's).

screen printed poster that i made for a band i make music with.

this is a small press my friend, stephen has setup in his home studio. he basically did all of the work and supplied the poster with its ink and foundation.

this was a lot of fun to watch, even though it's only two screens. i'm looking forward to doing more in the future and learning about the medium and methods further. printed off a run of fifteen and then hung about nine or so up in a few spots downtown. my band's name is catfish edwards & the hit machines.

reworked poster

that last lotus poster didn't completely fly with the band, so i was asked to change some things and since the first show had sold out even before the completion of this thing, they added another date the day after. my own group that i'm involved with has a gig coming up in the next few weeks as well, so i put together a quick flyer for that from some sketches that i had around. bing!

lotus poster.

this is another poster that i recently completed for opus one productions, who represent the well-known electronic/jam band lotus. i wasn't entirely familiar with their music before this, but while i was working on my conceptual ideas for it, i began listening to them and enjoyed what i heard. so here's what happened. the idea of a philly skyline was mentioned to me along with the desire for bright colors.

flyer

this is another flyer for the band meeting of important people. i think that this one actually turned out the best from the others that i have done for them in the past.
